Yoga Instruction
I am an RYT-200 yoga instructor, registered with Yoga Alliance. My training is in Pranotthan Yoga, which is from the Kripalu lineage. This form of yoga is inherently gentle and inward-focused. Unlike some other traditions that place a greater emphasis on athleticism or strict form, Pranotthan focuses on self-observation without judgment. A typical class will have a guiding theme of some kind and will incorporate breathwork, asanas/poses, and meditation. Because the focus is on compassionate self-awareness rather than trying to achieve the "perfect" pose, this form of yoga is appropriate for nearly all bodies and all experience levels, from beginner-beginners to advanced.
I have taught gentle hatha yoga classes in a studio setting; one-on-one classes with older students; and chair yoga in a clinical setting. I also volunteered with the Prison Yoga Project, teaching incarcerated men and women in Maryland jails and prisons. I have specialized training in trauma-informed yoga, yoga for veterans, and yin yoga.
I am currently teaching an in-person class on Saturdays at 10:00 at First Presbyterian Church in Taos.
